Unified Modeling Language

UML is used at the Software Systems Institute for planning, analysis, design, and documentation of research projects, student projects, master theses, and PhD theses.

Specification

UML has been standardized by the Object Management Group (OMG).
The current version of the standard can be downloaded here.
